Guessbook

Privacy

What we keep, why, and what we never do with it. Short, because there isn't much.

What a host gives us

The name of the person the game is about, the questions and answers you write, any photos you add, the guest names you list, and — if you sign in — your email address. We use these to run your Guessbook and show it to the people you share the link with.

What a guest gives us

A first name (or the name you tap on the guest list) and your answers. Guests never create accounts and we never ask guests for an email, phone number, or password. Your name and score appear on the leaderboard for everyone playing that Guessbook.

Contacts

If you add guests from your phone's contacts, the picker runs on your phone and only the names you choose are sent to us. Phone numbers and email addresses from your contacts never leave your device.

Payments

The Party Pass is paid through Stripe. Stripe handles your card; we never see the number. We keep a record of the purchase (which Guessbook, the amount, and the email Stripe gives us) so we can find it if you ask for a refund.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell or share your information, your guests' names, or your photos with anyone.
  • We don't run advertising and we don't use ad trackers.
  • We don't use your questions, answers or photos to train anything.
  • We don't email your guests. We can't — we don't have their addresses.

Where it lives and how long

Your data is stored with Supabase (database) and Vercel (hosting) in the United States. A Guessbook stays available until you delete it from your dashboard, which removes its questions, photos, guests and answers immediately. Empty Guessbooks that nobody has played are cleared out after 30 days.

Analytics and errors

We count page views and a handful of product events (a Guessbook was built, published, played, unlocked) without cookies and without identifying you. If something breaks, an error report may include the page you were on so we can fix it.

Children

Guessbook is for adults hosting parties. Guests of any age can play a game a host shares with them; we collect nothing from a guest beyond a name and their answers.

Ask us anything
