About Guessbook
A trivia game about one person, played by the people who love them.
What it is
Guessbook is party trivia about a real person — the guest of honor at a baby shower, a birthday, a wedding, a retirement, a team night. The host answers a few questions about them (first pet, worst haircut, the thing they always order), we turn those into a game with believable wrong answers, and everyone plays on their own phone from a link. Nobody installs anything or makes an account to play. At the end there's a reveal: the answers, the room's split on each one, and a podium for whoever knew them best.
It works in the room, on a video call, or across a week of people playing whenever they get to it. The reveal can go on a TV if there is one. It doesn't need one.
What it isn't
It isn't a pub-quiz app or a classroom tool, and it isn't general knowledge. Every question is about the person — that is the whole point, and it's why the reveal lands the way it does. We'd rather do that one thing well than add a general trivia mode that does it worse.
Who makes it
Guessbook is made by Spanvor LLC, a small company in Austin, Texas. The same people build it, answer the email, and refund you if something goes wrong. Write to hello@guessbook.app — a person reads it.
A few things we decided early
- Guests never need an account. A link and a first name. The host can sign in to keep their games; nobody else has to.
- Answers stay hidden until the reveal. No page, link or payload gives them away early — not to a guest, not to a clever guest. That rule is enforced on the server, not just in the design.
- The free game is a real game. Up to four players, as many Guessbooks as you like, no card. Paying opens the door to more people; it doesn't unlock the product.
- Plain prices, plain refunds. One Guessbook for everyone is $19, and it's refundable until the reveal has run or the day of the event.
- No trackers, no selling data. We keep what the game needs to run and delete what you ask us to. The privacy page says the same thing in more words.
